The Infraserve Data Centre has been specifically designed to deliver a high density computing environment with a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of only 1.25.
PUE - What's the Big Deal?
Energy efficiency is rapidly becoming a key data centre issue.
Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) is the standard measure used to measure data centre efficiency. It measures the amount of power delivered to IT equipment in the data centre compared to the total power used by the entire facility.
To calculate a facility's PUE you simply divide the total facility energy consumption by the energy consumption of the Data Centre IT equipment. For example, a PUE score of 2.0 indicates that the data centre entire demand is two times greater than the energy necessary to power the IT equipment. Or, to put it in dollar terms, this means that for every dollar spent on powering IT equipment, an additional dollar is spent on common facilities within the data centre.
A Green Sustainable Data Centre
In Australia, the PUE of most data centres at optimal capacity is 2.2-2.5 or higher. With a fully tested and proven PUE rating of 1.25 our data centre reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions dramatically compared to a traditional data centre.
At Infraserve, together with our modular Performance Optimised Data Centre technology, we can deliver the same performance of a traditional Data centre with 60% less power consumed.
That is great news for the environment!
